Donations
The Jerry Williams Endowed Scholarship Fund was established
at the Boston University College of Communications with gifts from
the family and friends to honor the late "Dean of Talk Radio"
Jerry Williams.
Though Jerry spent what would have been his
college years serving in the United States Army Air Corp in India
and China during World War II, he was a firm believer in higher
education and spoke often to classes at Boston University. He also
saw to it that his children went to college.
Income from the permanently endowed Williams
Scholarship will provide annual scholarship awards based on financial
need to one or more outstanding students entering their junior year
in the Broadcast Journalism Program. The purpose is to offer financial
assistance to qualified students who would otehrweise have great
difficulty completing their education.
The Williams Scholarship committee will include
a family member as well as faculty from the College of Communication.
